The 2000 election cleared up any illusion I had that Republicans were decent, fair, sane human beings.
They want only power. At any cost. They didn't care if they over-threw the government to get in. They didn't care that it was immoral to cheat. They didn't care that they scared the vote counters half to death so they would quit counting votes. They didn't care that the Bush family threatened, intimidated and paid Bush into office. They didn't care that people who dared to opposed old man Bush often came up missing or died awfully convenient deaths. They didn't care that Pat Robertson said on the Fox cable channel that he and the Christian Coalition were going to sit quietly so Bush could 'win.' They didn't care that Bush and Delay and Rove asked the Swift boat assholes to LIE and LIE and LIE about John Kerry- someone who risked his life for this country. They didn't care that the Bin Ladens were pals of the Bush family, despite the fact that their own family members hate the United States and killed over 3,000 of our people. They didn't care that because of those ties, the Bush family was able to MURDER those people and convince our nation that instead of being an ape, Bush was a 'leader.'
They didn't care that Bush waited conveniently for a month so that Bin Laden could escape. THEN he attacked Afghanistan.
They didn't care that Bush LIED about Iraq, even though the PNAC group had made it clear that the Bush family was going after Saddam Hussein and it was planned YEARS before President Primate ever took office.
They didn't care that Bush is a drunk- and they didn't care that even NOW he is often photographed at state dinners with a wine glass in front of him. THIS- the APE who's in charge of nuclear weapons is a DRUNK and they don't care.
They don't care that the APE is slicing off Veteran's benefits. They don't care that the APE is determined to ax Social Security because he targets the most helpless groups in society so his friends can have juicy tax breaks- All while he's WASTING our money in a WAR so his family and oil friends can become even more wealthy.
So no- I won't make exceptions for much. I do not forgive them much, or excuse them for anything- They HELP this APE- this MONSTER- this poor excuse for a human being every time they vote for one of his APE friends. They have all but destroyed every concept of freedom in this country. The APES have taken over... And it's time the human beings admitted it and started fighting back.

He wants to ax monies for certain ADULT LITERACY programs by two THIRDS.
AMTRACK funding would be cut SEVENTY PERCENT! Nearly a quarter of Amtrack customers are age 55 and older.
ENERGY ASSISTANCE:
He wants to cut that by ten percent. I guess he figures poor people can freeze since they probably don't vote for Republicans.
HOUSING:
Housing for the elderly is to be cut 25 percent!
Money for housing for people with disabilities is to be cut 50% with no new construction.
LOW RENT PUBLIC HOUSING:
A third of which is used for the elderly.
LOANS FOR BUILDING AND RESTORING rental housing for the poor in rural areas would be cut 75 %.
INDEPENDENT LIVING: Things under the Older Americans Act such as Meals On Wheels and FAmily Caregiver Support would be cut or frozen at 2002 levels.
JOBS programs would be cut.
MEDICAID: Spending would be cut by SIXTY BILLION over the next decade, and loopholes would be closed which currently make it simpler to transfer assets so people can move into nursing homes.
MEDICAL RESEARCH:
The U.S., Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's 4.5 billion dollar budget would be cut by 55 million! Who cares if we all die as long as they save themselves?!
NUTRITION:
Funding cuts over the next 10 years would mean that 200,000 to 300,000 low-income people would lose aid.
VETERAN'S DRUG COSTS: Veterans would pay TWICE as much in copayments AND a $250.00 enrollment fee!

The Bush adm. has long demanded that no one criticize anyone remotely connected with George Bush- It's a total 'hands off' policy, which they are willing to defend at any cost.
We were not supposed to notice that George Bush is so inadequate and stupid that he had to wear an ear-piece during the debates... Yet if that had been a Democrat, they would have destroyed him right then and there.
Well, I'm fed to the teeth with being told that Democrats are 'unAmerican' or that only Republicans have a right to breathe because THEY know EVERYTHING!
The truth is that the Republicans are some of the most corrupt, vicious, illogical, greedy and evil people on the face of the earth.
Many have become the very things they always said they were against. They don't mind OWNING nearly all the media, yet they used to say the Communists were the ones who never allowed an opposing opinion.
I consider this the new 'Dark Ages.' I only hope the world can survive it.

Since I love history, I know that when you have a stupid person with great power, you have a recipe for disaster.
I hear an occasional commentator saying that Bush isn't actually stupid- that he just SOUNDS stupid... And that drives me nuts. Let's face it- If the man cannot speak with any coherence, then it's because he's stupid. Bush doesn't just mess up a few words- he twists meanings and jumbles everything until no one can even understand him. That isn't 'a bad communicator'- That's an idiot.
And when you have an idiot who fears everything and anyone who disagrees with him to the point where he wears a bullet proofed vest, then you have a man who sees the world at large as his 'enemy,' and he will act accordingly.
Bush insulates himself, restricting questions which haven't been cleared by his office or things he doesn't want to answer. He makes sure any protestors are out of his view, and he punishes anyone who dares to speak out against him if at all possible.
He's like a great over-grown child in a room full of guns- gleefully giggling and pointing them at everyone, and saying: "My Daddy will get you if you don't let me play!"

Washington, DC - U.S. veterans from the war in Iraq are beginning to show up at homeless shelters around the country, and advocates fear they are the leading edge of a new generation of homeless vets not seen since the Vietnam era.
"When we already have people from Iraq on the streets, my God," said Linda Boone, executive director of the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans. "I have talked to enough (shelters) to know we are getting them. It is happening and this nation is not prepared for that."
"I drove off in my truck. I packed my stuff. I lived out of my truck for a while," Seabees Petty Officer Luis Arellano, 34, said in a telephone interview from a homeless shelter near March Air Force Base in California run by U.S.VETS, the largest organization in the country dedicated to helping homeless veterans.
Arellano said he lived out of his truck on and off for three months after returning from Iraq in September 2003. "One day you have a home and the next day you are on the streets," he said.
In Iraq, shrapnel nearly severed his left thumb. He still has trouble moving it and shrapnel "still comes out once in a while," Arellano said. He is left handed.
Arellano said he felt pushed out of the military too quickly after getting back from Iraq without medical attention he needed for his hand - and as he would later learn, his mind.

Republicans seem to think that Democrats should just 'sit down and shut up' as Bush sr. once said when a woman dared to question him.
They are angry because we will not cheer them on and say; "Oh yes- you can do anything you please now, oh great ones. You defeated us- now we welcome your hell on our necks and we will be good little slaves and be grateful that you allow us to exist!
Fie on that!
They stole it. Many Democrats had steeled themselves against a real Republican victory. We were ready to say; "Yeah- okay, the dummies in this country WANTED this moron, so now we'll just have to grit our teeth and accept that."
But he stole it again! We stood watching in horror as it became obvious that the dirty bastards had robbed freedom and thrown it right out the window!
When I saw that smirk on El Stupido's face, I knew the jig was up. Karl Rove went to the White House on election day and suddenly the sullen, worried look on Bush's face disappeared and he was grinning from ear to ear. He is a lousy actor. It was clear to anyone willing to see that Rove had just assured him that he would be able to stay in the White House.
The Republicans have it all their way now. They own the bar and can toss out anyone they please... But they forget that if they toss out too many, a crowd will develop and that crowd will come back carrying baseball bats.
Let the Republicans feel fat and happy. We want them comfortable and arrogant and inattentive. Because when they are finally ousted, we want them ousted so soundly and so completely that no one will want to ever hear the word 'Republican' again.
All tyrants fall eventually. In the meantime, their victims will continue to suffer.

In a sworn affidavit (pdf file) http://rawstory.com/images/pdfs/CC_Affidavit_120604.pdf Monday, a former programmer for a NASA contractor said that he developed a vote-rigging prototype at the request of a then-Florida state representative who is now a member of the U.S. House of Representatives.
RAW STORY acquired the affidavit from The Brad Blog, which has been in contact with the programmer in Washington.
While working for Yang Enterprises in Florida, the 46-year-old programmer says he was instructed by then-Republican state representative Tom Feeney to “develop a prototype of a voting program that could alter the vote tabulation in the election and be undetectable.”
Feeney, a former failed running mate of Gov. Jeb Bush, now represents Florida’s 24th district in the House of Representatives. At the time, he was serving both as general counsel and lobbyist for Yang Enterprises and the Florida state congressman.
Feeney’s office in Orlando told RAW STORY they would check with the congressman and hoped to provide comment later today. A second call was placed this afternoon; the congressman’s press secretary was said to be “unavailable.”
A receptionist at Yang Enterprises said she would pass a message along to a vice president, who she said would return the call.
“They will give you a comment,” she said.
The programmer, Clinton Curtis, said that he was told the program needed to be “touch-screen capable, the user should be able to trigger the program without any additional equipment, [and that] the programming was to remain hidden even if the source code was inspected.”
Curtis asserts that he told Feeney it would be nearly impossible to write a code to change the voting results if anyone were able to view the source code.
“However,” he added, “if the code were compiled before anyone was allowed to review it then any vote fraud would remain invisible to detection.”
Nevertheless, he says that he was asked at the meeting by Yang to build the prototype anyway.
Curtis states he initially believed that Feeney’s sought to stop Democrats from using such a program and “wanted to be able to detect and prevent that if it occurred.”

Boil macaroni or shells or twisty noodles- whichever you prefer.While they boil, in another saucepan, use about a cup of milk, and melt some shredded cheddar cheese. You can mix other cheeses you like too.When it's all melted, add a pat of butter or margarine and a dash of salt.Drain the pasta and mix the cheese mixture into it. If you wish, you can crumble potatoe chips or bread crumbs onto the top and brown it for a few minutes.The key is to melt the cheese first. I used to mix it right into the noodles and what you get is long strings of cheese and it's a heck of a mess to clean up. G If you like it crusty, put it in a baking dish and brown it at around 350 degs. for ten minutes or so.

(Much nicer, no boney sections.)1 bottle of Crystals or other hot sauce1/2 cup of Worchestershire saucetwo tables. paprika, and extra for sprinkling.Thaw wings if frozen, or wash and drain.Place wings in a large bowl, (you can do a half batch at a time.)If using half a batch, use half of the bottle of hot sauce. Otherwise, place the wings in the bowl and add all the other ingredients.Set the oven at around 400 degs. (If your oven is hot, lower it 20 degs.)When they are marinated- anywhere from 1/2 hour to all night, then spray a cake pan or lasagna pan with cooking spray and add the wings in neat rows.Sprinkle them with paprika.Bake for about ten or twelve minutes and then turn them over and bake for another ten or twelve minutes, or until they are totally cooked.They can be served hot with rice and a salad, or let cool to room temperature for a party.

French Maine Style Cabbage Rolls1 to 1 1/2 lbs. Hamburger1 head of cabbage- the largest you can find.about two cups of rice, uncooked.1 or 2 cans of tomatoe saucewaterBlanch the cabbage leaves. It is important to keep cutting away the hard rib at the core and leaving as much of each leaf intact as possible. You will probably have to hold the submerged cabbage in the boiling water with prongs while you slice at the hard rib by the core, because the leaves will not peel off intact if you try to do it when the cabbage is still raw.Once the leaves are blanched and pliable, lay them a big platter.Mix the meat and rice thorougly and then open a leaf of cabbage and put two or three tables. of the meat mixture into each one.Roll them up and tuck them in with toothpicks.Lay the rolls into a large chicken fryer cover with water. Boil until they are totally cooked. You will probably have to remove one to check it. The rice should be nice and tender.When they're cooked, use a turkey baster to remove the water. Then add the tomatoe sauce and cook for a few minutes until the sauce is warm.They can be served immediately or frozen for later. They microwave very well if lightly covered with waxed paper.
